Waarom een ecoduct?
De snelweg A18 onderbreekt het natuurgebied De Wrange bij Doetinchem. Dieren in het gebied, zoals reeën en dassen kunnen de weg niet veilig oversteken. Daarom besliste de overheid (Rijkswaterstaat) een ecoduct van 20 m breed aan te leggen in de loop van 2019. Het ecoduct past binnen het Meerjarenprogramma Ontsnippering (MJPO), waarin verbindingen tussen natuurgebieden hersteld worden.Gerecycleerd plastic?
Voor de zijkanten van de overbrugging koos men bewust voor een duurzame en ecologische oplossing. Het materiaal waaruit de zijpanelen zijn opgebouwd, bestaat uit 100% recycled plastic afval. Planken en balken van afwisselende dikte en breedte, werden in een speels patroon in een paneel geplaatst. Eens gemonteerd, vormen de panelen een doorlopende en veilige afsluiting.De feiten op een rijtje

Voor de panelen gebruikte Allflex deze kunststof profielen:- Plank met rechte hoeken: dikte 6 cm x breedte 12 cm, variërende lengte
- Plank met rechte hoeken: dikte 4 cm x breedte 15 cm, variërende lengte
- Balk met rechte hoeken: dikte 10 cm x breedte 10 cm, variërende lengte

Why a wildlife crossing?
The motorway A18 disconnects the nature reserve De Wrange near Doetinchem. Animals in the area, such as deer and badgers, are unable to cross the road safely. That is why the government (Rijkswaterstraat) decided to build a 20 m wide wildlife crossing during the course of 2019. This crossing is part of the Multi-Year Programme for Defragmentation (MJPO), in which nature reserves are reconnected.Recycled plastic?
